Provenance

Possibly Old Tower Collection. Found in box in Bowyer Tower. This may have been part of a large group removed from Littlecote before and after its purchase by the Royal Armouries.

Physical Description

Of elongated triangular form, pierced with a central group of five ventilation holes. The main edges have plain inward turns bordered by seven domed headed rivets. Across the top are two rivets, for articulation to the skull, retaining fragments of the mounting leathers and lining band. Cracked on ythe right side above the middle.
