Physical Description

It is octagonal for a short distance at the breech and hooks into a false breech being retained by two slides. The backsight is a block with a wide rectangular opening which was originally fitted with a hinged plate probably pierced with one or more apertures. Lock of Lovell’s enclosed pattern inset into the stock by the side of the breechstrap. Brass mounted stock fitted with an iron swivel. There are two ramrod pipes and a fore-end cap of Brunswick pattern. Ramrod missing.
