Physical Description

Flaring very slightly at the muzzle and stamped at the breech with Government property and Ordnance proof marks.
Lock with ring-necked cock and flat, bevelled lockplate engraved with Royal Cypher, TOWER and date 1729. Top jaw and screw missing.
Stock with brass mounts, the screw-plate being of 'tailed' flush-fitting pattern. The ramrod which was probably originally a wooden one is missing. A heavy iron pivot is bolted to the fore-end
