Physical Description

Exceptionally heavy, with a medial ridge, deep peascod waist and narrow flange at the waist. The neck- opening has a deep inward turn. At each shoulder is a rivet hole for the missing shoulder strap or buckle. There is a small domed rivet at each side below the arm-opening. There is a rivet hole at each side of the flange. Each shoulder is pierced by a later suspension hole.
It is externally bright and internally rough from the hammer. There are 2 flush repair patches on the right side of the main plate. The flange is depressed below the peascod and there is some lamination on the flange edge.
