Physical Description

Variant hilt with the divisions between the bars continued as engraved lines, in the manner of the 1821 Light Cavalry pattern guard. It has a straight rear quillon which, compared with the standard pattern, is also wider, and the disc terminal is of smaller diameter. With shortened practice blade. Fits quite well with shortened Pattern 1853 scabbard, IX.7846.
