Physical Description

Bright steel hilt consisting of spirally fluted pommel; with long straight quillons with terminals en suite with the pommel and ring-guards decorated with mouldings. Long grip (original) bound with cord.
The blade with oblong ricasso with, on either side, a short triangular lug.

Inscriptions and Marks

Engraved on one face of the forte is a scroll inscribed STANTLER(?) EL ME FECIT IHS MA. On the other side is the stamped mark of Christoph Stantler of Munich.
