Physical Description

with etched decoration. Leaf-shaped spike, the base continuing down the sides of the haft in long langets. Between the top of the langets, under the base of the spike is an axe-head with convex cutting edge, the beak stout and slightly curved. The axe-head, the base of the spike and the top of the langes are etched in the Italian manner with biblical and classical figures, scrollwork and conventional foliage. HAFT?
