Physical Description

The barrel for a semi-automatic rifle designed by Pedersen. It was a magazine fed, retarded-blowback weapon utilising a small calibre, high velocity cartridge. The system relied on a delayed lock principle, similar to that of the Thompson sub-machine gun. The barrel is tapered, and has raised, twisted cooling fins extending to 9 ins from the breech. It is designed to be Q.D. and has a short locking thread at the breech end. There are flats around the outside of the breech to permit rapid dismounting of the barrel. It is blued overall
