Physical Description

Large knife-like blade with slightly curved cutting edge the straight back broken by a small lobed feature and below a large floriated spike. The blade is pierced twice and the spike once a group of holes in a petal pattern. At the base are two tri-lobate lugs; flattened hexagonal socket, two langets extend down the old, probably original, velvet covered haft. At the butt a spiked shoe. The blade and socket engraved with masks and trophies, a cartouche on one face contains a heraldic lion rampant, and some traces of gilding remain. Has original shaft and spike.
