Captured from the French under Marshall Toiras in 1627. Accessioned on loan to the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Grand Entrance Hall, Old College, July 1985.

Physical Description

Backplate with central keel, v-shaped waist terminating in vestigial peascod and deep flange. There are plain inward turns and double line engraved at the neck, arm opening and flange. There is a single stud on each breast to secure the shoulder straps. It has six holes drilled in it at either side of the neck one under each arm and one at each end of the waist flange. This is one of the short waisted breastplates with deep flange.
