Notes

According to the text, the armours of the 'Ancient Knights' are those of Sir Henry Lee and of a nobleman of the time of James I, drawn in advance by permission of the Board of Ordnance. The 'Man of Brass' wore a scale armour of brass, which was normally in the care of Mr. Marriott of Fleet Street 'Head and representative' of the Braziers of London.
