Physical Description

A military bolt action utilizing a magazine that passes horizontally under the bolt, emerging on the left side of the receiver. A spring loaded trap door on the right side of the action must be opened to insert cartridges. Once inserted a spring-loaded follower puts the cartridges under pressure and feeds them into the bolt-way where the action of closing the bolt strips them off one at a time into the breech. This permits the magazine to be topped up at any time, regardless of whether the bolt is open or closed. The straight handled bolt has a locking/safety catch at the rear right, and the rifle may be cocked by using the thumb spur at the rear of the bolt. The triggerguard is steel. The rifle is fully stocked, with finger grooves forward of the breech. The barrel is round, and has a heavy brazed bayonet lug at the muzzle, which incorporates a ramp and blade foresight. The rearsight is a ladder type, with a V notch battle sight, and graduations up to 2000 metres. There are three sling swivels fitted
