Physical Description

The bamboo shaft is unpainted, with a carved nock and bound immediately behind the nock, in front of the flights and behind the head where it is approximately 15 mm wide, below which is a single black painted band. There is a painted inscription in Japanese on the shaft in front of the flights.
The whistling head is of red painted wood with three black bands and decorated with six longitudinal bone fillets which extend back about a third of the length. The head terminates in a blunt cone of black painted wood.
The fletchings consist of two large eagle feathers with two fletchings of pheasant tail feathers between them.
