Physical Description

Plain unsigned lock which may not be original. No bridle to frizzen, the plate unsigned.
Plain softwood stock painted with dark varnish. Made in two horizontal pieces, the dividing line just above the lock. Plain iron furniture; no buttplate but traces of a leather cover, now removed. Fore-end reinforced with narrow iron strap at the muzzle, hollowed out for a large wooden rammer. One sling swivel at fore-end.
Plain iron barrel made of sheet metal turned over at the muzzle to form a ring, the tang riveted to the top of the breech and bent upwards in the middle to form a rearsight.
