Physical Description

The lock plate is stamped crowned GR, Vernon, 1757 and crown over broad arrow. The cock is stamped 7. The stock is almost full length, generally dented, with brass furniture comprising a butt plate and side plate also stamped 7, a plain escutcheon plate, trigger guard with iron strap loop, and a set of four ramrod pipes, with a strap loop beside the third. The barrel is of round section stamped crown over GR over broad arrow, crown over crossed sceptres, crown over IG, and a crown on the breech strap.
