Notes

This may represent John Augustus Bonney, who was among the radicals imprisoned in the Tower of London with Horne Took in 1794. According to Bailey, he left an inscription in the Beauchamp Tower, a verse 'Epitaph on a cat, named Citizen, buried in the Tower Wall', which was signed I.A.B. Aug. 22, 1794. He was removed to Newgate Prison 5 Oct. 1794.
