Variations, losses, damage, etc: plaque on scabbard inscribed: 'PRESENTED BY / SGT. MAJOR McMILLAN / LATE 31ST REGT.'

Dimensions: Sword, blade length: 825 or 819 mm (32 1/4 or 32.25 in), blade width: 41 mm (1 5/8 in)

Inscriptions and Marks

On scabbard, on outside (CHECK), near mouth (CHECK): '3' over 'LD' over 'D' over '33' (for 3rd Light Dragoons, D squadron, sword no. 33); inscribed plaque, text as above.
