Presented by the East India Company, 1851. From Indore. Transferred to the B.M. in 1913 and returned in 1954.

Physical Description

The bamboo haft is very long, tapering from 6 cm to 2.5 cm in diameter from butt to head. The head is small and leaf-shaped, its base pierced and incised with acanthus ornament, and fitted with a small, plain, tapering socket. The lower third of the haft is covered with crimson velvet, and fitted to the base is a heavy butt spike, mounted with three fluted collars, each with applied brass mouldings above and below.
