Physical Description

The blade is broad and single edged, slightly curved, with two fullers beside the flat back. Below the shoulders are panels of etched scrollwork on a hatched ground. The hilt is of Indo muslim form. It is large, covered in silver. The disc pommel, with a recessed top, has an inset plate pierced and fretted with a flame pattern, from the centre of which rises the rounded boss surmounted by a moulded stem with pierced silver swivel loop. The grip has a bold medial ridge, swells to points at either side. The quillons are short, with rounded terminals decorated with punched borders and central flower-like patterns.
