Tower arsenal. On loan L157 to Household Cavalry Museum, Combermere Barracks, St Leonards Road, Windsor.

Physical Description

It has a shallow neck with a raised collar. Moderately deep arm openings and a medial keel terminating in a small point just above the waist, which has a flange that deepens to a point at its centre. The neck, arm-openings and waist flange have plain, inward turns. At either side of the chest is a swivel hook and stud to engage the shoulder straps of the backplate. A deep proof mark on the left of the breast. Painted black.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped TC for the maker at the neck and a Crowned IR. Stamped inside on the left is a 'V' construction mark and a white sticker AB 9.
