Physical Description

The blade is partizan shaped with a heavy reinforced point, widening out to side points befor necking in to the base where it is rivetted to a circular bolster. The tapering socket has simple engraved lines at the top and bottom. The blade is crudely chiselled with an engrailed decoration on each face and on the bolster. The wooden shaft is turned with grooves leaving a handle section in the middle and is painted in red green and yellow bands. At the top is the remains of a tassel. at the foot is crude iron spike.

Dimensions: The overall length of the spear is 2103 mm, the length of the head and socket is 505 mm. Weight: The weight of the spear is 1.3 kg.
