Physical Description

Black lacquered stick fitted with top and bottom mounts of gilded copper engraved with karakusa on a nanako ground. The bottom mount is engraved with a mon opposite the flattened region whilst the top mount is engraved on the end with the same mon. A long red silk tasselled cord is fitted through eyelets in the lower mount.
Attached to the stick by a length of red silk cord is a white paper tassel formed from individual strips of paper stacked spirally around a small wooden bobbin and tied around with paper string.

Dimensions

Dimensions: The length of the stick is 330 mm, the length of the strips of paper forming the tassel are 320 mm. Weight: The total weight is 0.15 kg.

The mon, of three short horizontal bars in a diamond with truncated corners. This is the kmon of the Inaba family.
