Physical Description

Broad, leaf-shaped hollow blade. [No description in IBE. This description is taken from IBE for VII.5 to which this example is stated to be similar]
Hollow blade has a short socket which extends into the head and is continued to the reinforced point as a medial rib. Socket attached to haft by 2 rivets. The mark (see below) appears above an etched (or engraved?) panel of a Tudor rose set between parallel lines and surmounted by an engrailed band. traces of gilding remain.
