Barendyne was High Sheriff of Oxfordshire and Berkshire three times during the reign of Henry VIII. He was knighted by Henry VIII on 13th October 1513.Originally suspended with his cross-belt, a spur, a gauntlet and a pennon (seen 1896, since lost)
