Provenance

Purchased at auction, Sotheby's, 16 December 1980, lot 365, together with a framed watercolour (I.147). From the Major A. D. F. White collection, formerly AL.13 14.

Physical Description

The shaft is slightly tapering, of square section with concave faces. There is a small, cuboid guard with bevelled corners. The grip is bound with cord, and there is a spherical pommel with a rosette washer around the tang button.
