Physical Description

The lock comprises a plain serpentine and trigger connected by a simple internal linkage. The stock is narrow and full-length, of reddish brown wood inlaid with ivory around the breech strap. The fore end has been repaired or replaced. The barrel is of square section, the breech engraved with ovals and scrolls, and formerly gilt. It is fitted with a rear peep sight in the form of a monster's head. The barrel bands are of leather.
