Physical Description

The serpentine and kidney-shaped trigger are of brass, connected by a simple internal linkage. The slender, red wood stock deepens considerably behind the breech and the butt widens to a rounded end. The butt and breech are framed in brass, and the sides of the butt have applied strips of embossed silver representing a bird with a long branch of scrolling foliage issuing from its beak. The barrel is of round section becoming octagonal at the breech and muzzle, where it is crudely inlaid with panels of silver scrollwork. It is attached to the stock by sixteen barel bands.
