Physical Description

Black lacquered stick fitted with a pointed bottom mount and a flat topped upper mount of very pale gold coloured alloy. The lower mount has the usual flattened area to allow it to be hung from the armour. Both mounts are overall engraved with karakusa on a plain ground. On the top of the upper mount is a wisteria mon, a long red silk cord passes through eyelets in the lower mount.
Attached to the upper stick by a white leather tie is a tassel of white paper wrapped around a wooden bobbin covered in red brocade.

Dimensions: The length of the stick including its mounts is 333 mm, the length of the paper tassle is 285 mm. Weight: Total weight is 0.2 kg
