Physical Description

The crupper is of brown leather covered in crimson velvet embroidered with orris thread and sequins, It is formed from a long strap, doubled on itself to pass under the horse's tail where it is further wrapped with velvet. Two small gilt bosses and ornately shaped flaps define this region. Beyond this is a further ornate piece linking the two straps on the horses rump.
