Physical Description

Pen and wash drawing on paper, showing visitors being shown the Line of Kings by a Yeoman Warder. The original drawing for the print entitled 'The Horse Armoury in the Tower', signed 'Rowlandson inv.', published 1 Jan. 1800 by Ackerman, 101 Strand. Inscribed on the back: 'Rowlandson, (Thos.), 1756-1827, Visit to the Armoury Tower of London, Pen and watercolour. From the collection of John Keane Esq., sold at Sothebys 3rd Dec. 1947 for #130.' Reversed pencil copy on the back.
