Physical Description

Steel mortar Barrel with constricted chamber stamped with London proof marks and maker’s mark (IH or IN crowned) and engraved LONDON. Lock engraved with the name of the maker JOHN HALL JUNR, inner side stamped W.H. Stock with brass mounts engraved with simple scroll foliage, the fore-end originally fitted with a swivel, now missing. The stock has been severely damaged by wood-worm.
