Physical Description

General Type Description: Straight, brass stirrup-guard, shield-shaped langets, and rear quillon with disc-finial inclined towards the blade; back-piece and pommel in one, with raised, shaped section around the tang-button. Ribbed, wooden grip, shaped to the hand, and covered with fish-skin.


Almost straight, unfullered blade, with ricasso, and terminating in a clipped point.

On hilt, on langet: '49'.On inside/outside of blade: crown and an illegible stamp.
