Provenance

Captured from the French under Marshall Toiras in 1627. Accessioned on loan to the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst (loan 154), May 1985.

Physical Description

Breastplate with a central keel, V-shaped waist terminating in a vestigial peascod and deep waist flange. There are plain inward turns bordered by double incised line at the neck, arms, sides and lower edge of the flange. There is a single stud on each breast to secure to shoulder straps. It has been chemically cleaned and is of a deep pewter colour.
