Made of tips of small cattlehorns fitted with brass nozzles with spring caps. The opposite ends are closed by flat-based brass caps

This was carried over the gunner's ammunition pouch suspended from a red cord which ran along the centre of the shoulder belt of the pouch. It was introduced about 1790 and remained in service untill about 1815. The 10th Battalion was raised in 1808 and disbanded in 1817.
