Object Number



Presented by Glencorse Museum, the Scottish Division Depot, Glencorse Barracks, Milton Bridge, Penicuik. via SUSM, Edinburgh Castle. It was acquired by Glencorse from the Chinese Embassy, apparently through the good offices of Chen Xiaolu, Assistant to the Defence Attache of the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China. It had the Glencorse museum number 855. Accessioned 11th November 1991

Physical Description

Blued allover with a two piece plastic grip with stamped five pointed star within a circle, in between the tines are stamped CCCP. The firing pin is missing from the block, and the slide is a replacement, being numbered and dated differently from the frame: 6336 1938. The frame is stamped 156 1947.
The pistol and a spare magazine (serial 7587) are housed in a velvet covered presentation case with two cards, one saying: CHINA M51, TT 33 (TOKAREV), CALIBRE 7.62 MM, WEIGHT 1LB 13OZS, BARREL 4 GROOVES RIGHT HAND TWIST, MAGAZINE 8 ROUNDS, MUZZLE VELOCITY 1375 FPS, MARKING RUSSIAN MADE IN TULA: and a calling card: CHEN XIAOLU, ASSISTANT TO THE DEFENCE ATTACHE OF THE EMBASSY OF THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA
