Physical Description

The lock is of Dutch type, but the steel is grooved. The cock retains its flint, with its lead packing. The lock plate, cock and frizzen are chiselled. The stock is of wood covered in thin sliver sheet, over which is a gilt, pierced and chiselled outer covering with a dummy ramrod, muzzle cap and a single barrel band. The long barrel is of round section, chiselled at the breech with a panel of scrollwork on a gilt 'fish roe' ground. The blued finish is modern. The trigger and guard are of western European style, en suite with the lock.
