Provenance

Until 1990 this gun was on loan to 'Logistic Executive (Army) at Andover', Ex Loan 181; It had previously been on loan to R.A.O.C. Vauxhall Barracks, Didcot.

Physical Description

This gun has suffered severely from polishing. The reinforce was engraved with the cypher of Queen Victoria although this is almost worn away. The cascabel loop is pierced to receive the head of an elevating siren. The vent is copper backed. The left trunnion bears the date of the piece 1859, whilst the right trunnion is engraved with the number of the piece CDXXXVIII. The second reinforce bears a Broad Arrow
