Physical Description

This example marked for Horse Artillery. Variations, losses, damage, etc: Surfaces of hilt and blade fairly badly rust-pitted. Grip lacks its leather. Extreme tip of blade missing.

Inscriptions and Marks

On outside of knuckle-guard, engraved: '87.4.1.H.A.60'.On outside of blade: crown over '8'.On back of blade: '[W]OOLLEY / SARGENT'.
