Physical Description

Rounded shoulders, slightly shaped to the spine, with narrow flange at the waist. the neck opening is broard and shallow, the arm openings fairly deep with inward turned edges. At either side of the chest is a pair of holes for attaching shoulder straps, a later modification.


The left shouder is corroded and broken off, a section of the right arm edge is damaged and the whole flange is corroded with a crack at the left.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped at the right centre if the flange is a number 21.

The mark was misread as IE in 1985, and appears as a unique London maker in some MSS on London armourers.
