Physical Description

Formed of a main plate shaped with flanges for the eyes, a rounded point above the nose, separate ear defences riveted on, side plates attached by rivets, and a poll plate attached by a modern leather. An escutcheon plate is attached at the centre, with an original bolt and wing nut. The main edges have plain inward turns, bordered by round headed lining rivets with circular washers retaining parts of the leather lining band. Modern leather loops are fitted to the ears, and a strap and buckle below the eyes.
