Physical Description

It has a shallow cut-out at the neck, shallow arm-openings and a medial keel terminating in a triangular facet just above the waist, which has a flange that deepens to a point at its centre. The neck, arm-openings and waist-flange have plain, inward-turns, accompanied by numerous pairs of small holes for stitching on a missing leather edging for the attachment of a lining. The edges were originally bordered by twenty eight large brass rivets of round-headed form. The rivet at the centre of the neck , and at the centre of each side are now missing. At either side of the chest is a hole for the missing mushroom-shaped brass stud, that formerly engaged the shoulder-straps of the backplate. A small, horizontal slot, to recieve a later suspension-shain, has been cut at the center of the neck. Bright with light pitting.
