Physical Description

The blade is a T section and slightly recurved, with pronounced shoulders. The upper edge is chamfered with arabesques. The pistol hilt is amber set into a metal socket. The socket is decorated with a floral and foliate pattern with cartouches of Hindu deities (possibly incarnations of Vishnu). The scabbard is wood covered with red fabric, broken on one edge. The locket and chape are metal. The locket is decorated with parrot heads and shells. The chape is decorated with a floral pattern and cartouches of Hindu deities.


Dimensions: The overall length of the dagger is 389 mm. The length of the blade is 255 mm. The length of the scabbard is 252 mm. Weight: The weight of the dagger is 0.360 kg. The weight of the scabbard is 0.070 kg.
