Physical Description

Hilt: steel, comprising spherical pommel with button, knuckle guard, pas d'ane [now called arms of the hilt] and small symmetrical shell guards, decorated with hunting scenes of hounds and game chiselled in relief against a matt gold ground. The grip is bound with silver ribbon and plated silver wire.
Blade: of hollow diamond section, etched and gilt at the forte with strapwork, a human bust and swags.
