Physical Description

It has a shallow cut-out at the neck, shallow arm-openings and a medial keel terminating in a triangular facet just above the waist, which has a flange that deepens to a point at its centre. The neck, arm-openings and waist-flange have plain, inward-turns. the turns at the arm-openings and sides have subsequently been removed. Numerous pairs of small holes border the edges for stitching on a missing leather edging for the attachment of a lining. The edges were originally bordered by twenty four large brass rivets of high round-headed form. The rivets were fitted with large roughly cut cicular internal washers, eleven of which remain. The rivet at the centre of the neck is missing along with one from either side. At either side of the chest is riveted an mushroom-shaped brass stud, to engage the shoulder-straps of the backplate. Inside a metal rod has been soldered to the back of these studs for display purposes. Bright.
