Physical Description

Shaped to the shoulder. Flanged at the waist The neck opening is broad and shallow. Plain inward turns bordered by a single incised line. There are three radiating bands of line decoration from the flange to the neck and arm openings. At either shoulder are rivets for the attachment of the shoulder-straps.

Inscriptions and Marks

At the centre of the neck is a deeply struck mark, possibly a crowned IR, and a large punched M, possibly an owner's initial. On the inside at the flange sngle upside down, is a number IIV (cf. III.2826-also indide flange angle, upside down, number VIIII)
