Gutter-shaped steel gouge (with broken end), mounted in wooden handle with brass ferrule.

Inscriptions and Marks

Black and white label on handle reads: 'BRADES Co's. / SUPERIOR QUALITY / WILLIAM HUNT & SONS, THE BRADES LTD. / BRADES STEEL WORKS, / NEAR BIRMINGHAM.'On shank of blade, stamped: 'BRADESCO' (all letters difficult to read; the last two especially uncertain).
