Physical Description

Unlined black leather scabbard for single-edged sword, stitched along front edge. Leather erased and flaking badly. Brass mounts, originally gilt. Top-locket with rounded projection supporting an elongated waisted stud for frog suspension; top-locket secured by metal tongue passing down inside scabbard, and bent over leather at its tip. Square tipped chape, slightly reinforced at tip, with indented edge. Both lockets with transverse bands of linear decoration on outside face, and on inside face of chape.
