Physical Description

Brass hilt consisting of flat pommel-cap, rectangular quillon block decorated on each side of the hand with a stylized flower and supporting two flat lobate finials in the plane of the blade which are decorated with deeply cut lines. Bone grip with spirally carved groove in which lies a medium twist copper wire. There is a brass ferrule next to the quillon block.
Straight, double-edged blade of flattned diamond section tapering to a point. The blade is possibly asscoiated.

Although IBE has the date 16th century, the hilt at least looks modern to me (PJL 04/06/1991).
