Old Tower Collection. The cuirass was formerly on the Gothic armour on loan to Dover Castle

Physical Description

It is made in two parts. The upper breastplate has main edges with plain outward turns bordered by shallow flutes. The plackart has a fretted finial, a medial ridge and its upper edges are bordered by double flutes. The lowest plate of the fauld is restored. lowest plate of fauld.

Stamped with a maker's mark at the neck, read by ffoulkes as a lion in a shield.
