Physical Description

Etched decoration to head includes Jacobs Dream on one side, and on the other Moses and the Brazen Serpent. The leaf-shaped blade, of boar-spear type, surmounts a diminutive axe-head with concave cutting edge and a rear fluke in the form of a fleur-de-lys. Short socket with triangular hole as for a boar spear toggle. Two langets extend down the old staff. One face of the blade is etched with a representation of Jacob's dream, the other with Moses and the Brazen Serpent, the rest of the head with conventional scrollwork and foliage.
